Premium Crops is committed to expanding pesticide options for niche crops, increasing economic and agronomic viablility for niche crops. Our latest success is the approval of Emerger (aclonifen) for linseed and borage.

Emerger: Key Benefits
Emerger adds a new grass weed mode of action to the linseed weed control programme, reducing resistance risk and complementing existing options such as Avadex and Centurion Max.
Its broad-leaved weed activity, particularly strong against fat hen, adds further value for spring crops.
“Emerger offers an additional grass weed mode of action to the Linseed armoury, which is important to reduce the risk of resistance. Premium Crops are pleased to have an EAMU for Emerger, in addition to Avadex and Centurion Max as part of the Linseed blackgrass program.”
Hannah Foxall, Company Agronomist
Jamie Oakley, Market Development Agronomist at Bayer CropScience Limited, added:
“The addition of aclonifen, one of the most widely used and trusted herbicides in the UK, brings another level of flexibility and reliability to linseed production.”
Technical Details
Application: Single pre-emergence spray at 1.4 L/ha before crop emergence.
Target Weeds: Blackgrass, fat hen, chickweed, cleavers, knotgrass, mayweed, and more.
Crops Covered: Linseed, borage, and other minor oilseeds.
Trial Results: Autumn herbicide screening showed zero phytotoxicity across two assessments.

Premium Crops continues to trial, lobby and invest in new EAMUs:
Kinvara (Canary Seed): Approval expected soon.
Amistar (Linseed and Canary Seed): Will widen fungicide choice and deliver greening benefits; anticipated within a year.
Watch this space, more EAMUs are on the way!
