Each Winter Linseed trial location is specially selected to test material under the range of ‘typical’ growing conditions for UK, such as soil type, lodging risk, winter hardiness, etc.
Very early generation lines were hosted for breeders to screen a much wider range of their material, improving the chances of finding optimal candidates.
All candidate lines are tested against current commercial varieties and the official National List controls.
