WintaLin Harvesting & Handling
-
WintaLin is not
inclined to shed or shatter, so will wait for the combine
if necessary.
- The early harvest date for WintaLin means:
- an easy harvest
- long harvest days
- a high likelihood of harvesting the crop dry
- a high likelihood of a good quality sample
- straw is dry and can be chopped by the combine (Linseed straw can
otherwise be pushed into lines and burnt)
- The standard linseed quality requirements are:
- 9% moisture
- 2% admixture
- 38% oil (min 54% ALA)
- If drying were to be necessary:
- most on-farm drying systems that can handle oilseed rape are suitable
- mobile (eg Opico) dryers are excellent
- Premium Crops can arrange drying if required
- WintaLin can be stored on-floor or in bins and has a specific weight
of around 70 kg/hectolitre.
- Growers requiring harvest/early movement are advised to make
arrangements in advance (see Wintalin
Markets).
